Don't just exist through boring days,

                                   through winter's weary, dreary ways.

                                   But seek the treasures that may be

                                   hid in mediocrity.

A flock of pine siskins suddenly appeared. I was fortunate enough to look out the window while they were there.

Had an ice storm. Lovely to look at.  Not fun to deal with otherwise.

A red-breasted nuthatch showed up at my feeder. A welcome guest!

I love to find toads in my garden. 

This frog is relaxing in its natural habitat.

This was one of several tree frogs down in a window well. Did they want to be there? Were they stuck? I placed a stick so they could climb out if they desired.

Here is a spider with a delightful web. It makes me think of a vinyl record!  Do you see its dinner?

Still have a monarch caterpillar on my swamp milkweed, thought its older siblings have not left much to munch on.

These came up all over in one spot in our yard.

Found this black snake crawling up our big maple tree. Amazing that a snake can do that!

The apple trees are in full bloom and smell wonderful.

When the apple trees are in bloom, it's time for mushrooms!

And sometimes you find something else!

I think bloodroot are such pretty flowers. You have to catch them quick. They don't last long.

This last day of April was finally warm- sunny and in the 70s. This picture was taken the second day of the month- April had a pretty rough start!

Looking for some green this spring and found this. Not the green I wanted: a green stinkbug.

 It was an overcast, drizzly day for a walk, but the day brightened considerably when I spotted this Great Horned Owl sitting on a nest!
